Your Unique Geometric Signature

Featured

As a monk, I was introduced to the magic of Yantra on my first pilgrimage to India. At that time, I watched in awe as the pujaris (Hindu priests) performed sacred offering rituals that included the use of some strange geometric patterns. Some of these patterns were inscribed on copper plates and some were even created using coloured rice and drawn at the base of a fire pit surrounded by fruits. The pujari then lit a fire and chanted mantras while pouring ghee while onlookers threw rice to keep the fire blazing. Drawing a yantra using coloured rice flour was the first stage of this elaborate ritual. It was all quite beautiful and mystical and it never ceased to fascinate my mind.

But why were there specific geometric patterns used and for what purpose? Was it just custom or was their some deeper significance to the geometry? Unlike the tradition of Kolam, where Indian women will decorate the outside of the house with symmetrical patterns drawn with coloured rice powder or chalk to invoke prosperity, Yantras seemed to contain a mystical power within the actual pattern themselves.

Many years later, during my study of numerology and the magic art of talisman creation and sigils, I learned of the science behind yantras and their relationship to magic squares and numerology. What I discovered is that a Yantra is neither magic nor a technique to invoke some magical effect, but is more like an apparatus or “mystical software,” if you will, that fully encapsulates the energetic vibration of an intention or deity. Often in Vedic literature, a Yantra is described as a “machine.” Great yogis and ancient writings therefore praised Yantras as one of the most effective and convenient tools for self-realisation, protection, and for creating auspiciousness.

Yantras and symbols

Evolution of the number 7

We express ourselves through the use of symbols, software and machines all the time. Writing and language are symbolic of our intentions, and in order to express these intentions, we often use some apparatus like a pen, or a machine like a computer. For example, consider the number 7. Factually, it is just two strokes of a pen, but when we see that symbol it reminds us of “lucky 7,” seven days of the week, or maybe something important in our life that happened on the 7th day of the month, etc. In other words, the symbol associated with 7 effectively contains a whole databank of information. It is much more than two strokes of a pen.

Uses of Yantra

The most famous yantra is the SRI YANTRA, representation of the divine masculine and divine feminine. It is the Vedic equivalent to the YIN YANG symbol.

The science of Yantra includes intention, mantras and tantra. Different Yantras are connected with different deities or angels as well as a specific mantra. The five gross elements of nature, earth, water, fire, air and ether are also connected to Yantras, and by performing specific rituals utilising the appropriate Yantras, it is claimed that one can control these elements.

According to the Vedas, a Yantra is a science that can be used to connect apparently disparate elements and malefic influences into one harmonising action. For example, a planet that may normally assert a harmful effect on someone can be countered through the use of Yantras. A Yantra literally becomes the medium through which the invisible forces of energy can act on an individual.

While anyone could feasibly draw a Yantra, it will not yield the desired effect unless it is produced with the proper intention and energised with the perfect mantra. Ideally, a Yantra should be prepared by a qualified yogi or astrologer, who will prescribe Yantras to people to help ward of the evil influence of planets, spirits or enemies.

Traditionally, a Yantra was drawn onto a bronze, copper, lead, silver, stainless steel, or gold plate. However, with the advancement of printing technology, a Yantra can now be printed onto a variety of surfaces. Although, the medium must first be purified by mantra so that the effectiveness of the Yantra is increased. Therefore, the Yantra’s effectiveness is very much dependent upon the purity and qualification of the person who creates it.

What is a Soul Yantra

A Soul Yantra is a unique contribution to the ancient sigil (talisman) traditions and a new genre of modern art. Like the traditional Yantras and Talismans, a Soul Yantra is also based on the sciences of numerology, magic squares, geometry, geomancy and astrology. However, in this case, the encoded data is not a call to some Archangel, but is representative of you and your life purpose.

By mapping a person’s name and date of birth to a harmonious magic square, and then colouring the resulting geometry according to their astrological influences, the unique geometric pattern becomes a Soul (personal) Yantra. In the same way that numerology can encode a person’s character, aptitudes and life’s lessons in numbers, a person’s Soul Yantra can do so through geometry. Your Soul Yantra literally captures your essence in a harmonic geometric pattern—it is essentially your inner spirit and karma captured in art.

When I first looked at Brian’s numerology, I could immediately sense his power of discrimination and acute intelligence, most prominently shown in his arrow of intelligence (3,6,9] pointing towards the number 3 which signifies left brain analytics and communication. His day number is also 3, which is very typical of people with great communication skills, like writers and entertainers. Even more significant however was the fact that Brian’s ruling number was the master number 11, signifying tremendous spiritual and psychic energy. Eleven also represents the masculine double SUN (11) and the reduction of this number is 2, which represents the peaceful and feminine energy of the Moon. So 11 is a powerful balance of the yin and yang energies.

When I created Brian’s Soul Yantra, I selected yellow as a prominent colour because of its association with the number 3 and the planet Jupiter. The golden highlights are the influence of the sun energy. The light blues, light greens and shades of silver are representative of the Master number 11 and the influence of the moon in his numerology. The violet centre, accentuated with a white cross is representative of his spiritual interests.

Each Soul Yantra is completely unique, just like you!

Capture your birthday, name and secret wish in a Personal SOUL YANTRA

WHAT IS A SOUL YANTRA?

The SOUL YANTRA of the founder and chief Soul Yantra Mage.

A SOUL YANTRA is a unique geometric signature (pattern) of a name + birthday mapped to a harmonic magic square. Your Soul Yantra captures the frequency of this data and all the corresponding life lessons and qualities in art. You can also have a unique geometric signature of your secret wish. Any personal name, company name, partnership, affirmation — anything that can be described in words, can be captured as a SOUL YANTRA.

Yantra is a Sanskrit word for “instrument” or “machine”. Much like the word “instrument” itself, yantra can stand for symbols, processes, automata, machinery or anything that has structure and organization, depending on context.

PRACTICAL USES

You can meditate on your Soul Yantra and allow it to enter your subconscious. The numbers that pertain to your name and birthday contain vital information about your life path and character, revealing qualities for you to work on in this incarnation. When I give a numerology reading, I explain this in more detail, but essentially your Soul Yantra does the same thing in art form.

Using the ancient systems of geomancy, magic squares and numerology we will create your absolutely unique SOUL YANTRA — a professionally coloured digital art that you can hang in your office or home, imprint on your business card as your logo, or just carry around for good luck. Some clients have even used their SOUL YANTRA as a tattoo!

What is a Transit?

A Transit of a planet occurs when the planet passes directly between the Earth and the Sun so that as seen from the Earth, the planet appears to pass across the face of the Sun. Transits can only occur with planets whose orbit is between that of the Earth and the Sun; that is, Mercury and Venus. A transit of a planet is similar to a solar eclipse but the planet appears to be much smaller that the Moon so it cannot cover the Sun and looks like a small black disc slowly crossing the Sun.

How often do Transits occur?

Transits of Mercury occur quite regularly (with about 13 each century) but they are difficult to observe due to the very small apparent size of Mercury. Transits of Venus are much rarer and are more interesting due to the larger apparent size of Venus and due to their historical connections.

Transits of Venus occur in a pattern that repeats every 243 years with pairs of transits eight years apart separated by gaps of 121½ years and 105½ years. Venus and the Earth are aligned in the same direction out from the Sun about every 584 days (this is called in conjunction), however a transit does not occur each time because Venus’s orbit is usually above or below the Sun in the sky.

Since the phenomena was first recognized there have only been six transits of Venus – 1639, 1761, 1769, 1874, 1882 and the most recent one  in 2004. The 6th June 2012 transit is our last opportunity to observe a transit of Venus, as the next event occurs on 11th December 2117

Historical significance of transits

Jeremiah Horrocks was the first person to successfully predict and observe a transit of Venus in 1639. Observations of the transits of Venus became scientifically important when in 1716 Edmund Halley proposed that observations from different locations on the Earth could be used to determine the distance between the Sun and the Earth (called the Astronomical Unit); and the scale of the solar system could be subsequently determined by applying Kepler’s third law of planetary motion. At that time there was great uncertainty about the size of the solar system and by extension the size of the universe. Many scientific expeditions were sent around the globe to observe the 1761 transit and there was great competition between nations to solve what was called “the noblest problem in astronomy”. Unfortunately difficulties in accurately timing the transit led to conflicting results, and consequently an even greater effort was mounted for the 1769 transit. Combined results from the two transits produced a better understanding of the solar distance, but further refinement was undertaken in later transits.

The 1769 transit has a vital historical connection to Australia. Lieutenant James Cook was dispatched to Tahiti on HMS Endeavour to observe the transit. After a successful observation he was directed to search for the “great south land” thought to exist in the South Pacific Ocean and following that search he discovered and charted the east coast of Australia.

Scientific expeditions were spread across Australia to observe the 1874 transit and again for the 1882 transits, with many of these successfully recording the event.

The Transit of 6th June 2012

For the transit of 6th June 2012, Venus took about six hours and a half hours to travel across the face of the Sun. Venus must be above the horizon for the transit to be visible. Australia was one of the best places on Earth from which to observe the transit as the entire transit was visible from eastern and central Australia.

The path of Venus across the Sun’s disc is shown in the diagrams above for locations on the east coast of Australia. Venus traveled in a straight line across the Sun. However, because the Sun appears to rotate as it crosses the sky, Venus appeared to move in an inverted “U” shape when viewed from Australia.
